Pots of sand

Francesc Roig Toqués collected pots of sand from one hundred and fifty-seven beaches around the world, all different colours and sizes. Friends, acquaintances and visitors sent them to him to add to his collection. There is sand from countries like France, Croatia, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Egypt, Morocco, United States, Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic, India, the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and others. One interesting pot contains one million grains of sand from the beach at Vilanova i al Geltrú. To do this, they first collected one thousand grains, weighed them on a precisions scales and multiplied the amount up to one million.
